ReplyDeleteHey, happy 40th birthday and happy 100 posts - it is my birthday on Sunday (45) and my best present ever was a trip to Rome my husband surprised me with a few years back although this year will also be a good one as Mandy and I are going sewing machine shopping tomorrow (present from Nigel) and the kids are going to each take some cash to my LQS and buy me a few surprises too! Id love to win those fabulous fabrics A LOT. XXX
ReplyDeleteWell I had assumed I was a follower as I visit you a lot but oddly I wasn't - but I've clicked to follow anyway. And another happy birthday to you - 40 jeepers. I'm half way to 50 - jeepers creepers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Kerry! 40s are wonderful so enjoy every moment. And good news - so far, 50 is wonderful, too! I hope you do something special today to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteThe last birthday is always the best for me and my birthday coincided with spring break so our daughter was home from college. We went to Disney World and my husband and daughter encouraged me to get over my fear and ride the Rockin' Roller Coaster which makes a complete loop. Doing that with them was the best present for me.
Happy birthday!! I'm almost 22, and I wouldn't mind being 40 right now. I'm having a tough time making all the right decisions and looking for a job... I would love to be older and have my life on tracks... with some kids, a dog and a house of my own... I'm looking forward to being settled and secure. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to receive all these gorgeous gifts, simply amazing. Thanks for your generosity!
(PS: i'm already a follower)
Happy birthday! I am facing 50 at the end of next month, so I know all about Yikes! birthdays. I have to say that no present I have ever received topped being bundled into the car on my 10th birthday to be driven mysteriously out into the country, with my parents steadfastly refusing to say a word in the face of my millions of questions. At our destination, was a pile of squirming puppies. REmembering how I felt at the realization that one of those was for me makes me teary! Hooray for birthdays! It certainly beats the alternative!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday!! have a great day : ) i gave my niece a gorgeous quilt for her 4th birthday a couple of weeks ago- my first handmade present, and it felt great- so much love!! hope you get lots of love on yours too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteOk so my birthday present story is a strange one. Two years ago one of my mum's friends gave me, for my birthday, an old mug (It was not vintage, it was not pretty, it was not clean...it came with a coffee ring on the inside and a lipstick smudge on the outside.) Inside said mug was a small furry toy animal that probably started off life white, but had been soo well loved you could 1) not tell what it was supposed to be; 2)it was grey with dirt. Under that, still in the mug was a small childs hankie - I couldn't unfold it it was 'stuck together as it also wasn't clean.
I don't know what this present was supposed to say to me. It made me smile...all the way to the bin.
I am a follower of your lovely blog :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteMy BEST b-day gift was 2 years ago - a new sewing machine!!! Love it to death and use it all the time for quilting and making bags!
Happy birthday Kerry! Have a lovely day. I'm a follower. The most bizarre birthday present I ever recived was a wrapped up apple - because I liked apples. Nice! xx
ReplyDeletehappy birthday...!
ReplyDeletei will be 40 next year, my most bizzare birthday present was a wall hanging with text that i didn't understand, i didn't remember what i do with the present, it was about 25 years ago.

ReplyDeleteI hope you got to open the package from Cotton Garden and that you got the two books we were talking about for your birthday! I knew your birthday was coming, but wasn't sure exactly what date, so I added a teeny tiny gift in the package to you that I sent a few days ago.. I hope you'll enjoy it.
The best birthday gift I ever received was a sewing machine from my hubby :) I also really loved a beach ball from my friends that had birthday messages from lots of my friends - 8 years ago now!
Happy Birthday!
Happy 40th and Happy 100 posts! My worst ever present was a hammer drill that my 'EX' husband bought me, oh joy ~ notice it was my 'EX' husband :)
ReplyDeleteKandi x
Happy birthday Kerry... it's my big one next year!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite present has to be a lovely black & white kitten I had for my 3rd birthday. He came with a very large red bow around his neck :) I called him Jason, from The Waltons! I had him for 8 years, no doubt he was free to a good home so my parents did well that year!
Hope to see you Tuesday x
My very best wishes for an amazing birthday may your year be filled with whimsy and loads of love.
ReplyDeleteYou're not 40, you're eighteen with 22 years experience. ;)

Happy birthday and 100 posts Kerry! That apron is the sweetest thing ever, how in the world are you going to be able to give it away?? ReplyDeleteThe most beautiful presents I got were not actually birthday presents, but little poems my daughter wrote for me and put under my pillow once in a while. I cherish them! Once I found one weeks later, that had fallen under my bed. It was the sweetest one of all!
PS: I have been following you via my blogroll since several months now (o: Your blog is always very inspiring. It was actually my daughter who found it for me.

Happy Birthday Kerry! Turning 40 was life changing for me and the best birthday ever. After waiting months for my son to reach the minimum weight requirement he and I both did our first bungee jump into a partially dry riverbed on my 40th birthday. A wonderful memory :) Hope you also create a wonderful memory on your special day. From Wendy

Happy 40th! Next year my sister-in-law and I both turn 50 (yikes!)...I proposed that we make it a "birthday year" of celebrating! haha My last birthday was awesome...I finally went to see Dave Matthews in concert with family & friends (actually on my b-day) and multiple times throughout the night the crowd was singing happy birthday to me!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Thanks for sharing such yummy fabrics! That tea and jam print is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI found a curtain with nice fabric at the Salvation Army, so I purchased it because it had sayings. The few I read in the store were SO funny and I thought I could do something for my oldest son with it, but then I found out it was BART SIMPSON quotes. Ugh, but he LOVEs Bart. So, I bought a little more Bart, mixed it all with a sheet cut into bricks and he was utterly delighted that his mom would sacrifice and give him something he really liked. LOL!
ReplyDeleteLucy~

The best birthday presents come from my husband. He gives me the day off from being mom. No diapers, no cooking, just sewing or vegging in front of computer or TV. I just have to work on the idea of "no guilt"!
ReplyDeletensue21702 at gmail dot com
Happy birthday! My fave birthday gift was the year our daughter was born. She was born in January, and for my birthday in April hubby got me a spa day package. Somehow that didn't happen again this year when our son was born. I guess the novelty of having a baby wore off quickly this time for hubby. LOL
