I do tend to lean towards using the finished measurements more than body measurements, depending on how I want the fit to be. Books have to cover such a broad range of sizes and body types in a small number of pattern pieces so they have their limits. It sounds like you need to size down in these patterns.verykerryberryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07485169920671733941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1652190296430922611.post-89074673553940373422018-02-12T00:46:18.222+00:002018-02-12T00:46:18.222+00:00I do wonder about the sizing of these patterns. I've made the drape-front top and it was truly VAST on me. I also made the pencil skirt and it, too, was too big, around the hips and waist. I love the look of the book and I find it endlessly inspiring, but I think even "boxy" styles should FIT in proportion to the measurements.Marial Sheahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18077508564447320858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1652190296430922611.post-18173163331568370532017-12-13T14:05:04.536+00:002017-12-13T14:05:04.536+00:00I love Makers Atelier patterns and have been consi...I love Makers Atelier patterns and have been considering buying this book for a while. I love it! I am now in my 50s and want to look smart and stylish. These patterns are just what I was looking for and I think the book is great value for money. I loved reading your review.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10183024549270951128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1652190296430922611.post-73799964001189112342017-02-22T09:10:35.971+00:002017-02-22T09:10:35.971+00:00Your review is so useful, thank you. I have sewn with 'Vogue' patterns since I was a teenager - more years ago than I care to remember!- but they seemed to totally lose the plot. Most of the amazing young indie pattern makers are just too young for me, but I haved used 'Merchant & Mills', which has a more casual feel, since they were introduced and discovered Makers Atelier last year. Both are fantastic.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11129676947553565437noreply@blogger.com
