A very special Ed xxx

Sad news.  My close friend's dog Eddie died yesterday.  He was our dog Lottie's litter mate and only 6 years old.  This is my personal space, my animals are a big part of our lives and Eddie was included.  I just wanted to note his life in a small way here and how much he meant to us all.

Eddie was the sweetest boy.  He turned up randomly tapping at our front door just a few weeks ago early evening, having escaped from his front garden only 5 minutes away and run to our house. We will all miss him so much.  I've just been going through my photos to see what I could find, and this was one below of him (left) and Lottie (right) a few years back made me smile.  Kathy and I had bought dolls houses from the car boot sale and had decided to mock up a model village for the dogs to play in.  They tumbled and goofed around and were generally hilarious.  Eddie and Lottie brought our families closer together, a valued friendship

Exmouth beach was a special place for us all.  Full of dogs and their walkers today.  We talked about you there today Ed, special memories and love to you always Eddie xxx

  1. So sad for you. Eddie has the same head markings as our one, such an affectionate breed.

  2. Oh, how sad. Our dog's sister lives just over the road and often pops round for a playdate by herself - she whines at the door until we let her in. I can't imagine how sad you must be feeling xxx

  5. Touch my heart...my daughters first Cavie, Tristan, who looked remarkably like Eddie, passed away from cardiomyopathy in 2011, we lost his son, Will Turner, a tricolor, to the same disease about a year later. Tris' was born in Kent and was shipped to Midwestern US, then found by my daughter and shipped here to Idaho. We always joked that he barked with a British accent :-) Now only his daughter Belle is left, for how long we don't know as she had developed a heart murmur as well, and so begins the long road of medications once again. If only this loving little breed who steals our hearts didn't so quickly break them as well, but they leave us with so many precious memories...

  22. I'm so sorry, I fully and recently understand the sudden loss of a much to young pet. I didn't know our hearts were so tangled in our fur babies but quickly found out just how much... My husband and I both were heartbroken. Please extend a hug to your friend, tell them love and prayers from Abbeville, Alabama. I told our sweet Lucy to find her a friend in Heaven so I hope she was standing at the gate waiting for your little Eddie!

  24. Hi Kerry, so very sad :-( Eddie looked adorable. Our tri cav Dylan is now 13 & 1/2, when he was 3 we were told he wouldn't live very long as he has syringomyelia, but he proved everyone one wrong, now sadly he is stumbling much more, though he is as fiesty as ever. So each day is precious. They are such adorable, kind and gentle souls, who just love to be snuggled up next to you. x
